First on our sweet journey is the famous "Malai Ghewar" This traditional Rajasthani dessert has found a special place in the hearts of Indore's residents. It is a latticed disc-shaped sweet made with flour, soaked in sugar syrup, and topped with creamy malai (clotted cream) and dry fruits. The combination of the crispy texture and the richness of the malai creates a heavenly dessert experience.



Next, we have the iconic "Jaleba." Similar to jalebi, but with a twist, this indulgent treat is larger in size, crispier, and soaked in a thick sugar syrup. The jaleba is a visual and gastronomic delight, offering a burst of sweetness with every bite.



For a refreshing treat, head to the bustling Sarafa Bazaar, where you can find a hidden gem called "Gulab Sandesh." Exploring Indore's Street Food Haven

 So Hi again Foodies, On the fourth page of  this blog we continue our culinary adventure through the vibrant street food scene of Indore. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds with some more mouthwatering delights that are unique to the city.


Our next stop takes us to the bustling streets near Chhappan Dukaan. Here, you'll find an iconic street food snack known as "Gol Gappe," also called Pani Puri or Puchka in other parts of India. Indulge in these crispy hollow puris filled with a flavorful mixture of tangy tamarind water, spicy potato stuffing, and a burst of chaat masala. Each bite is a burst of flavors that will leave you craving for more.



As we continue our street food journey, don't miss out on the famous "Khopra Patties". Khopra Patties is a popular street food dish in Indore,  It is a delicious snack made with a filling of grated coconut (khopra) mixed with spices, and it is typically served with various chutneys and garnishes. One shop that is most famous for its khopra patties is Vijay chaat house.(You can find various outlests of this shop in Indore)



For those with a sweet tooth, make your way to the street vendors near Rajwada. Here, you'll find a lesser-known delight called "Mawa Baati." These small balls made from mawa (reduced milk solids) are deep-fried until golden brown and then soaked in sugar syrup. The result is a delectable sweet treat that melts in your mouth with every bite.

  1. First on our list is a charming eatery nestled in the old part of the city. Here, you'll find a mouthwatering delicacy called "Bafla", this local favorite consists of a baked wheat bun, generously soaked in ghee (clarified butter), and served with piping hot lentil curry and chutney. The combination of the fluffy bun with the flavorful curry is an explosion of taste.

  2. Next, venture to a bustling street corner in Rajwada, where a small cart offers a unique treat known as "Garadu",these deep-fried yam cubes are seasoned with a blend of spices, topped with tangy tamarind chutney, and garnished with fresh coriander leaves. The crispy exterior and soft, succulent interior make Garadu a must-try snack.

  3. For those with a sweet tooth, a hidden gem awaits in the heart of Sarafa Bazaar. Make your way to a stall that specializes in "Shikanji". It is very tasty and along with drinking it is also royal to look at.  It is very easy to make, curd, rabdi and dry fruits will taste good in it.  So don't forget to try out this royal drink of Indore and enjoy it in a royal style.
